Ok ok, hear me out – warm, fluffy, yummy bagels made in the air fryer, BUT CHEDDAR! These mini 3-ingredient air fryer cheddar bagels are just as light and fluffy as my regular 3-ingredient air fryer bagels, but these have loads of yummy cheddar cheese.
These are the easiest bagels to make, and the best part is that there’s no changing out of your PJs to go to the store to get your breakfast carbs.

Some of the best things about these bagels are that they take just a small handful of ingredients, they’re cheesy as all get out, and you don’t need to be a baker – if you can stir stuff, you’re golden.
The Things You’ll Need To Make Air Fryer Cheddar Bagels
✅Self-Rising Flour – This is KEY so you don’t need yeast! (More on that below…)
✅Greek Yogurt – Yogurt keeps them moist and tender, and adds loads of protein.
✅Cheddar cheese – Today I used marbled cheddar, but regular, mild, sharp, or pretty much any cheddar you like, you can use.
Optional:
✅Butter – You don’t need to use it, water will work. But honestly, why not add even more yummy flavor, and the calories aren’t much to write home about.
Want to get fancy? Add a bit of diced jalapenos or everything bagel seasoning. Try mixing a bit of garlic powder and Italian seasoning into the flour when making them for even more flavor.
📌How To Make Them In The Air Fryer (Super Easy!)

- Preheat the air fryer
- Mix together the flour, yogurt, and HALF the cheese.
- Knead for a few minutes and then separate into 6 balls.
- Flatten the balls, and make a hole in the center.
- Butter the tops and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Air fry until golden and enjoy!
Please check the recipe card below for exact ingredient amounts and directions, and loads of helpful tips to make this perfect every time!
🥄Recipe Variations
I always like to switch things up and try making them in different ways.
- Cheese – try different cheeses you love or combos of cheese. For instance, shredded smoked gouda, spicy pepper jack, or a habanero cheddar are amazing for a bit of a kick and someting different.
- Garlic Parmesan – Add a teaspoon of garlic powder to the flour before adding the yogurt, and when they’re ready to go in the air fryer, sprinkle more garlic powder and parmesan cheese on top. (Measure with your heart.)
- Seasoning – Add any dry herb you love to the dough. I’ve added dry dill weed and then topped it with the dill Havarti that I mentioned earlier.
- Everything Bagel Seasoning – Keep it easy and classic by shaking on some of that seasoning and you’re ready to go!
🧀 Extra Recipe Notes
Can I double the recipe? – YES. Your air fryer might not fit them all at once though.
Serving ideas: Breakfast sandwich base, dipped in marinara, or topped with jam and cream cheese for that sweet/savory vibe.

3 Ingredient Air Fryer Cheddar Bagels

These cheesy bagels come together in 15 minutes using self-rising flour, yogurt, and cheddar. Golden, melty, and no yeast needed!
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F and spray the basket with nonstick spray or oil
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and yogurt and HALF theshredded cheese until a dough begins to form. (I easily mix this with a wooden spoon).
- Turn the dough out on a floured surface and knead until smooth (It may take a few minutes to get to a dough consistency, and it might seem too sticky at first. Keep kneading and add more flour in 1 tablespoon increments until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.)
- Cut the dough into 6 equal-sized pieces and roll them into balls.
- Flatten the ball between your hands and use your thumb to poke a hole in the center.
- Place the bagel in the air fryer and brush with melted butter (or water).
- Sprinkle on the remaining shredded cheese.
- Air fry for 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and slice. Serve with cream cheese if desired and enjoy!

Recipe Tips and Storage
No Regular Flour Allowed - Self-rising flour is the convenience we're using because it already has the baking powder and salt added. If you can't find self-rising flour, it's super easy to make yourself. Using plain flour won't work with this recipe; you need a leavening agent to make the bagels rise.
Regular Yogurt - Same with the regular flour, regular yogurt shouldn't be used in this recipe. It's the runny cousin of Greek yogurt. It has more water in the mix and will knock the flour/moisture ratio out of whack. You'll have a gloopy mess on your hands.
Literally.
Freezing - These cheddar bagels freeze like a dream. They're perfect for single-serving portions, and I like to freeze them on a baking sheet separately and then bundle them up in an airtight freezer bag.
Just take one out, thaw it on the counter for 15 minutes or take the shortcut and microwave for 30 seconds. Toast them up as usual!
