Polar Bear Poop is an easy, crunchy sweet snack that’s just as fun to make as it is to eat. The theme is blue (even though polar bears are white) because when I was making this, I had made my Yeti Poop recipe all with a white theme. So I thought polar bear poop needed it’s own color and blue fit perfectly!
Also, just so you know, no bears were harmed in the making of this snack!
Here’s the Poop: What You’ll Need
A quick dive into the 4 simple ingredients that bring this frosty delight to life. I think you’ll find all the ingredients at your local grocery store because they’re quite easy to find.
Round-Shaped Cereal: I used plain Cheerios but you can use a sweetened type like honey nut. I find the more plain, unsweetened flavor calms down the sweetness in the snack. But if you have a raging sweet tooth, go for the sweetened round-shaped cereal!
Blue Chocolate Melts: I go to a bulk store that carries different kinds (colors) of melting chocolate. If you don’t have access to that, use white chocolate chips and some blue food coloring.
Candy: I like to use a combination of blue candies and white sprinkles. Keeping with the blue theme, I added blue raspberry jellybeans and blue candy stars. If you can’t find these, substitute them with any other blue or blue/green colored candy. I also added some white candy sprinkles I had on hand. Please use your favorite blue and white themed candy.
Powdered Sugar: For that frosty, icy look! Feel free to leave this out if you don’t want the extra look and sweetness.
How to Whip Up a Big Batch of Polar Bear Poop
Step-by-step instructions that even a bear with mittens could follow!! Seriously, super easy to make and little ones would love to have a hand (or paw!) in helping. Just like my Grinch Poop and Snowman Poop recipes, it’s basically assembly.
STEP ONE: PREP: Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add the cereal to a large bowl.
STEP TWO: Melt the Chocolate: Slowly melt your blue chocolate (or white chocolate with blue food coloring) in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth.
STEP THREE: Pour and Fold: Pour the chocolate over the cereal in two batches and keep folding the chocolate over the cereal until it’s coating all the pieces of cereal.
STEP FOUR: Add Candy: While the chocolate is still tacky, add the powdered sugar, white sprinkles and blue candy and fold to incorporate.
STEP FIVE: Chill: Transfer the polar bear poop onto the baking dish and flatten out. Chill to let it set. When it’s set, break it into pieces and serve!
Helpful tip: Don’t let the chocolate get too hot, it can easily scorch and seize up if it’s heated too far.
Serving Suggestions
This easy polar poop can be enjoyed as a holiday treat any time you’re craving for something sweet. Try teaming them up with some other Christmas-themed candy and sweet treats like White Chocolate Christmas Crack, Rudolph Candy or some Lemon Cranberry Cookies.
This polar bear poop also makes a fun and cheeky holiday gift to give to friends. Check lower in the post for a printable label to attach to the gift!
Stashing the Stash: Storage Tips
Keep your poop fresh and crunchy for as long as possible—if it lasts that long! Keep it in a container with a tight-fitting lid at room temperature for a week. For longer storage, keep it in the fridge in the same kind of container for about 3 weeks.
I don’t recommend freezing this wintery treat as when it thaws it could draw moisture from the air and make it a bit soggy.

Ingredients
- 8 cups small round cereal like Cheerios, etc.
- 2 cups chocolate melts, blue
- 1 cup white sprinkles/blue candies/jellybeans (see notes)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Place the cereal in a large bowl.
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave using 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate over the cereal and fold it until all the chocolate covers the cereal.
- While the chocolate is still tacky, add the sprinkles/candy add-ins. Fold in well.

Notes
Feel free to use any candy or sprinkle (or combination of) you prefer. I wanted to keep everything blue with a bit of white so I used blue stars, blue jellybeans, and white sprinkles. Also, add more or less candy/sprinkles according to your preference.
Be sure to melt the chocolate in increments in the microwave so it doesn't burn.
