This 2 ingredient caramel dip is such an easy recipe because it comes together in under 15 minutes, is sorta kinda healthy, and best of all, is irresistibly delicious.

The dip is super versatile- you can feature it on your holiday charcuterie boards or serve it as a dip with your sliced fruit at any summer cookout.

And honestly, dipping my 2 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies in the caramel dip would be divine!

Ingredients For the 2 Ingredient Caramel Dip Recipe

Cream cheese: Cream cheese forms the bulk of the dip. It really adds that beautiful, rich flavor that’s so good. You can use a brand name or simply use your local grocer’s house brand if they have it (and you like the flavor of). You can even make cream cheese from scratch if you’re that ambitious.
Some day I’ll be that ambitious….. some day.

Caramel sauce: I used the simple caramel sauce that I made from scratch. It is the easiest 2 ingredient caramel sauce recipe you’ll ever find- it is a promise. If your ambitions don’t run to the homemade sort, your favorite buttery store-bought version is perfect.

How to Make 2 Ingredient Caramel Dip

This couldn’t get any easier. Honestly.

  1. Whip the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the caramel sauce and mix well until fully combined.
  3. Serve with a platter of fun pairings.

Tips & Variations for this Caramel Dip Recipe

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature before you begin the recipe. It will make your life much easier to whip together and it will help prevent little lumps forming from the cream cheese.
  • I would also recommend using full-fat cream cheese to get the perfect creamy flavor and consistency.
  • If you want to make this caramel dip have an even lighter, fluffier consistency, fold in some whipped cream to the mix.
  • Topping the dip with some toffee bits, or chopped nuts like pecan or almonds gives the dip more crunch and texture.

Serving Cream Cheese Dessert Dips

I’m honestly in love with the no-fail combination of caramel and apples, so I love pairing this dip with some apple slices here, but cookies (Nilla wafers, I’m looking at you!) or chocolate-covered finger cookies would be delicious.

This simple dessert dip situation (like my 3 Ingredient Pumpkin Fluff recipe) is one of the easiest “go to” items to bring to house parties and get-togethers. It never fails to make people happy.

And that’s not all – you can try teaming up this sweet dip with a few other popular crowd-pleasers including my 5 ingredient pecan pie bark and my 2 ingredient cinnamon rolls.

In fact, you can also serve the dip with your favorite crackers (sweet and salty), pretzels and even churros.

Storing Any Leftovers

This yummy caramel dip should stay fresh for 2-3 days. Just make sure you transfer any leftovers that you may have in an airtight container and keep them refrigerated at all times.

If you have the dip in a bowl, you can cover it up with cling wrap to preserve its freshness.

Remember that the dip is best served at room temperature, so make sure you get it out of the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before you plan to serve it.

Can I freeze this caramel dip?

I really wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t believe the cream cheese would thaw nicely with the caramel mixed in. It’s nicer to make the dip fresh.

How far can I make this in advance?

I usually make it the morning of when I want to serve it and let it chill until about an hour before I want to serve it.

Mine was a bit too thick. What would you suggest?

Easy. If you find the dip too thick, thin it out as you mix it with milk or even coffee cream. Only use a few teaspoons at a time so you don’t thin it out too much.

Instructions

  1. Remove the cream cheese from the refrigerator at least 1 hour before making this dip.
  2. Combine the caramel sauce and the cream cheese in a bowl.
  3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, beat the two ingredients together until fully combined so that the mixture is slightly fluffy and light.

Notes

If you find the dip is not sweet enough for your liking, feel free to add confectioner sugar in increments of tablespoons until it's reached the desired sweetness. I find that the caramel sauce is plenty sweet.
